 LEGASC

LEGASC (pronounced legacy) stands for  Leading & Educating Generations Across Schools and Communities. LEGASC is a non-profit organization established in 2010 as a developmental girls program. Today, LEGASC has been rebranded to support EVERYONE involved in the development of our community and their children, not only young women.

The legendary Rita Pierson stated, "Every child deserves a champion-an adult that understands the power of connection and insist they become the best they can be.

Who Are We?

Serving Fairfield & Richland Teachers, Students, and Parents

We are a team of dedicated educational professionals, including teachers, parents, counselors, and coaches, serving the Midlands region. LEGASC focuses on social, emotional, and cognitive processes involved in learning and applies these findings to improve the learning process. LEGASC provides training and coaching for parents, educators, and students to help create a welcoming atmosphere for the school communities. We are active advocates for students, parents, and teachers. It is designed to assist, guide, and support participants to:

1. Understand and embrace the importance of education.

2. Maintain and build healthy relationships with teacher-student, parent-child, and parent-teacher.

3. Implement SEL, restorative practices, and mindfulness to help facilitate successful interpersonal interactions and the development of positive relationships within the school communities and home.

4. Engage in meaningful conversations with parents, teachers, and students about educational concerns, strengths, and hopes.

LEGASC uses a holistic and equity-focused strategy while combining best practices in family and community engagement and teacher training. Topics, mode of delivery (in person or virtually), length, and audience can all be adjusted to meet the needs of your demographic location.

Who Do We Serve?

Interested Student

Midland Students

Helping children learn best involves identifying students who may need extra help, developing programs for struggling students, and even creating new learning methods. Meeting the whole child's needs means providing for their physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development. We want to assist with creating a safe and supportive environment, fostering positive relationships with peers and adults, promoting healthy habits and behaviors, and engaging in activities that stimulate intellectual curiosity and creativity.

Online Class

Midland Parents

LEGASC will assist parents to meet the needs of their child by helping them to creating a supportive and nurturing home environment, providing healthy meals and exercise, encouraging positive relationships with peers and adults, fostering a love of learning, and address any mental health concerns. It also includes recognizing and respecting the unique strengths and challenges of their child, and helping them develop the skills and resilience needed to navigate life's ups and downs.

Teacher and Young Student

Midland Educators

Our organization will help equip educators with the tools to help create a nurturing classroom environment that promotes positive relationships and encourage student engagement. They also use a variety of instructional strategies that cater to different learning styles and abilities, providing opportunities for hands-on learning and collaboration. Additionally, help to support the development of students' social and emotional skills by modeling the SEL core competencies and providing opportunities for students to practice problem solving and conflict resolution.
